SEO or Search Engine Optimisation is a process that most business with a website should engage in. The advantage of SEO is that the end result is higher natural rankings in search engines and this will drive more traffic and potential leads to your website. SEO focuses on improving your site and content to better match peoples interest and increases the chance that your business will be found and they will contact your business. SEO is not an instant fix, it is a effective long term solution for business.

What is SEO? Some people say that SEO is a black art and too complicated to explain but again they used to say the same thing about electricity and photographs could steal your soul. SEO is not black magic or a black art, its really just hard work, research and relevancy. No company has any special links to Google to get your website ranked quicker or higher, and any claims about this should be reported directly to Google.

Black Hat SEO

You should never seek to engage a company that works promoting your website through what they term as Black Hat SEO, which is basically Hidden or Cloaked Pages, Keyword Stuffing "Repetitive Placement", Redirection to irrelevant/illegal content and well lying about what your site actually is about and the content on it. BMW were a case example of a company that was using JavaScript to launch a Doorway page that was only visible to Google spiders, and visitors would only see the real content when they disabled JavaScript. This process is often caught and unless you are willing to risk damaging your reputation online, don't use black hat seo firms.

You can see that this is a clear violation of what people are seeing and what the site is actually advising the search engines that it contains and was why the site was dropped from Google directory after having this is place for 2 years. After this was removed it eventually returned to the listing through a request for re inclusion was submitted.

White Hat SEO

What is referred to as White Hat SEO is basically focusing on, having a good domain, correct keywords, relevant content and encouraging people to link to you site. Its obviously a lot more involved but that is essentially what is involved, good rankings depend on good and relevant content. I want to make real money with ads!

If you were hoping to stuff your page with ads and focus on driving traffic to your site, you could try for a bit until Google discovers your intention and drops your site from its search index, my advice would be to focus on building your online traffic and if you want to make extra money try getting a part-time job. Most people dont make money from filling their site with ads even if they are getting thousands of visits, you require hundreds if not millions of visitors to make a living on ads. If you are still sure that you can make money with ads on your site, we recommend the addition of Google Analytics to track visitors, and using Google Adsense to display ads within your website.
